January 2008- Dawson never misses a meal!!

Wow, I must be really bored!

I must be super bored, another post! This is the second one for tonite! I will admit that I am a TERRIBLE blogger, however one of my resolutions is to update this blog more often! Here is just a quick rundown of what has been going on at the Rousse house lately.....
We have had several friends that have had babies within the last month, and Dawson(even though he has only been around them for a short period of time) can't stop talking about them!! He loves his new little buddies, Dylan Weatherly, Tanner Jones and Addison Cole so much! And he has 2 more buddies that will be born in 2009, Stacy Jones and Jake McGinnis! I am so excited to see all of these kiddos grow up together, it is going to be a blast!
We took Dawson to a Pediatric Optamologist a few weeks ago to get a second opinion about his eyes. Unfortunately, his vision hasnt gotten any better since he was seen by his regular eye dr. in August, so they had to strengthen his glasses. We go back in 2 months to see what the next steps will be, but it is looking like he may have to wear a patch to help strengthen his weak eye muscles or possibly even surgery. I pray that he does not have to have surgery, but we will do whatever it takes to get his vision to wear it needs to be. Please say a prayer that his vision gets better and his eye muscles strengthen with his new glasses. He is really, really good (most of the time) about wearing his glasses which amazes me! I am really proud of him!
We are kind of, sort of thinking about potty training. He is showing some interest in it, so it is a hit or miss thing right now. We are definately not pushing it since he is barely 2!
We really haven't been up to anything too exciting, just play, play, play as Dawson says! That boy never stops!!!

Christmas

Well another Christmas has come and gone, and I can't believe it is about to be 2009!! Where does the time go?!? I (or should I say David) hasn't uploaded our pictures from Christmas yet, so that will have to be for a different post. Dawson really got into Christmas this year so it was cool to get to see it through a 2 year old's eyes! He is still asking to listen to Tismas (Christmas) songs every day on the way to daycare though! I don't think he realizes that it is a once a year thing! All in good time, little buddy! I can only handle having my house decked out in Santa and Snowman garb for about a month each year! We tried to teach him that we celebrate Christmas in honor of Jesus's birthday. He thinks that everyday is someone's birthday though, he still tells me happy birthday and my birthday was almost a month ago! He loved Santa this year, and went right up to him to tell him that he wanted a shark (really random, right?!?) and a kickball from him. Luckilly, Santa was able to find him a tent that looks like a shark, which he LOVES, and a kickball, which has already been lost!
I hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas and a fabulous 2009!!

I Can't Believe my BABY is TWO!

Dawson's Birthday was October, 31. Yes, a Halloween baby! I can't believe he is 2, it seems like just yesterday we were bringing him home from the hospital! He has literally turned into a little boy right before my eyes, and he amazes me everyday with the things he learns! His language has really "popped" within the last few weeks and he repeats everything he hears. He is also learning to use words in the right context which is so amazing to me!
We had his Sesame Street Birthday Party at the park here in Hernando, and he had a blast. He loves the park, so we thought it would be a perfect place to have his party. Alot of our friends and family came to celebrate, and we are so thankful they were able to share in Dawson's special day! He received lots of great gifts too, and he loves all of his new toys! Thanks to everyone for being so thoughtful!!

Rachelle and Malcolm's Wedding

Well this post is a little late, but better late than never I suppose! Both myself and Dawson were in one of my Best Friends wedding back in November. I lived with Rachelle throughout college, and I can honestly say, she was the best roomate ever! Even better than the stinky boys I live with now! Just kidding, kinda! Anyways.. we have remained close friends, and we were very excited and honored that she asked us to be a part of her special day! Her ceremony was beautiful, and she was a gorgeous bride! Dawson was the ringbearer, and he did pretty good. He made it about half-way down the aisle before he took off running the other way! I think he ended up sitting on the front row with David during the wedding. Oh well...he looked adorable, and everyone got a good laugh at him! Thank you Chelle and Malc for letting us share in your special day! We are so glad to have you both in our life!
I have lots more to blog, maybe I will catch up this weekend!

I am such a BAD blogger!!

Well I think it is safe to say that I am a terrible blogger!! To be honest, I haven't kept up with it because I am sure nobody reads it. But thanks to my friend Katrina, I have decided to be a more current blogger! Thanks Katrina!

Well, SO much has happened here at the Rousse household in the last 6 months! Dawson has obviously grown and grown and grown; will he ever slow down?!? In case you didn't already know, he also has glasses now. His teacher at daycare pointed out that his eye was kind of rolling in and she had been noticing it for a few weeks. Well me being the overreactive, paranoid mommy that I am took him straight to his pediatrician where she reffered us to a pediatric optometrist. I am glad that I listened to my instincts, because it turns out that my sweet little guy is farsighted! Luckilly, we caught it at a very early age, but at this point we don't really know what the long term outcome will be. His next appointment isn't until February. He now is the proud owner of a cute little pair of blue glasses, and he is doing a FANTASTIC job of wearing them! I will admit, I was extremely hesitant and very doubtful that he would even wear them 50% of the time, which was the goal his dr. was shooting for. However, he has surprised us all; he wears them pretty much all of the time except for when he is taking a bath or sleeping. We are so very thankful that this has not been as difficult as we thought it would be! And personally, I think his little glasses just add to his already fiesty little personality!

After getting strep throat over and over and over, I had my tonsils removed (and yes, most people have them removed when they are like 4, not almost 30!) about 6 weeks ago. It was the worse pain I have EVER been in! I won't go into any details, but let's just say that chicken broth and Ensure were my meals of choice for about 2 weeks! So thankful that ordeal is over with!

Both myself and David have started new jobs within the last few months. David is doing the same thing he was doing before, just at a different company. I am pretty much doing the same thing I was doing before, but also for a different company. The big change for me is that I am working from home now!! This is an ideal situation having the little rugrat to take care of! He still goes to Ms. Lucy's during the week (according to David, he will go there until we send him off to college!), but I am able to pick him up earlier and have dinner ready when David gets home. Our house is also staying alot cleaner!

Well there is much more I could go on and on about, but it is getting late and this Momma is tired! We have so much going on the next month between weddings (Dawson is going to be in his first wedding!), showers both wedding and baby, and Dawson's 2nd Birthday, so I will have lots to blog about!

Lot's Of Updates

It has been awhile since I last blogged. I thought I would really get into it, and be consistant with it, but so far that hasnt been the case!
Dawson had PE tubes put in his ears about 3 weeks ago. After having about 10 ear infections within the first year of his life, we decided that this was the best thing to do. The surgery went well, and he was back to his normal, wild self within an hour of the surgery! Hopefully, this will eliminate his ear infections. I felt so bad for him, the little bugger kept an ear infection!
He is growing so very fast, and learning so much. Just within the last month, he has started enjoying books. He loves for you to read to him, and when it is time for him to go to bed, he gets a book and runs to the rocking chair in his room! He loves to sit in your lap and be rocked while you read to him. It has become our little ritual, and it is my most favorite part of the day! I know that sooner rather than later he won't want to sit in my lap so I am loving it while I can! Dawson's vocabulary has really started to flourish, and he will repeat most anything you ask him to! He said "bye mommy" yesterday as I was leaving for work, and I thought my heart was going to melt! He loves giving big hugs and sweet kisses too!
His new obsession is The Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and The Wiggles, neither of which thrill me, however he LOVES them! We try to limit how long he watches tv, but it is nice to be able to turn one of these shows on and have him entertained so I can do laundry or pick up the house. He loves to "sing" and dance to the music.
I am very thankful that God chose me to be this precious little boy's mommy! I don't know how I ever made it without him, he has been such a wonderful blessing and sweet addition to our lives!

New to this entire Blogging thing!

I decided to create this blog to keep everyone up to date on what is going on with the Rousse fam. I probably should have done this when Dawson was first born, but oh well!
We had a wonderful Christmas, and Dawson really enjoyed opening his presents and playing with the boxes and wrapping paper! (note to self- don't spend money on fancy toys, just get boxes instead!) He is growing up so fast! I was just telling my mom that he isn't my "baby" anymore, he has turned into a "big boy"! He is talking up a storm and really trying to put words together. He is walking, or rather running, everywhere and getting into everything! He loves to eat (obviously), playing in the bath, playing with all of his toys, especially his Little People, and most of all DANCING! The boy LOVES to listen to music and dance! He loves to grove to the music and shake it! He is so funny to watch!
Well that is about it for now. Hopefully, I will get the hang of this and get better with my blogs!
